I have always been put off group work as I feel more comfortable on a 1-2-1 basis, but this group was great. I think the benefit was because it was a closed group and delivered in a very friendly, relaxed and informal way.&nbsp;\u201c<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em><em>This group has allowed me to feel free to open up about my mental health challenges and to explore my feelings in a safe space.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>After the lockdowns my anxiety was sky high and I was struggling to get out and about again! Joining the walking group meant I could push myself to get out, get fresh air and a bit exercise with a group of people who know what it is like to be a single parent ie going through similar struggles!<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Thanks for this today, was so good to get stuff out<\/em>\u201d<em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ve loved this group! It\u2019s better than the professional support I\u2019ve received because it\u2019s real.&nbsp;<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>&nbsp;It\u2019s relaxed and informal and I feel safe sharing my experiences. I\u2019ve also made friends and feel&nbsp;I can come here whenever I\u2019m struggling on my own\u201d<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I really appreciate it. This has helped me a lot. The counsellor is a lovely person. Please let her know that I\u2019m coping well for the time being and when I have bad days I always remember the chats we had.&#8221;<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>It was nice trying something new and really helped me to take time out and relax! M (leader) was fantastic at guiding us through it! I really feel that it has helped with my stress levels and I will now try to incorporate into my day as I know that the more you do it the greater the benefits!\u201d<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback from EFP Volunteer\/ Peer Supporter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ve become more interested in mental health topics. I\u2019ve started listen regularly to a mental health podcast.-I meditated when I was younger and it\u2019d helpful me, but this had fallen away.
