Edinburgh Food Project is the charity of the month for Edinburgh Community Bookshop.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As many of us begin to plan the gifts we will buy, the tree we will decorate and the dinners we will eat,\u00a0thousands of people\u00a0in Edinburgh\u00a0are\u00a0having to\u00a0turn to foodbanks\u00a0across the city. For too many\u00a0people\u00a0this festive season will be full of challenges \u2013 how they will pay their bills, and how they will feed their families. You can help. In addition to donating food and money,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0a new way to support\u00a0Edinburgh Food Project\u00a0this year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Edinburgh Community Bookshop<\/a>,\u00a0based on Great Junction Street in Edinburgh, is home to a wide variety of second-hand books which have been generously donated by members of the public or local businesses.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0different from other charity bookshops\u00a0in that it\u00a0chooses\u00a0a different local charity each month,\u00a0to raise funds for their cause by donating profits from the shop directly to them.\u202fIn December, Edinburgh Food Project is the chosen charity.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Suzy Goodsir,\u00a0Fundraising Lead at\u00a0Edinburgh Food Project\u00a0said \u201cWe\u2019re\u00a0so grateful to\u00a0Edinburgh Community Bookshop\u00a0for choosing us as\u00a0their December charity of the month. The Bookshop is\u00a0an excellent\u00a0place to browse and shop. We love that the books there are\u00a0all donated by the community. Shopping there is a\u00a0simple and impactful\u00a0way to give back\u00a0to\u00a0local charities like Edinburgh Food Project.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tuscani Lakeman<\/span>,<\/span> Edinburgh Community Bookshop said “Edinburgh Food Project was chosen as our charity of the month for December because we really admire the work they do for the local community. December is a time for getting together and enjoying meals\u00a0with loved ones and we love\u00a0that Edinburgh Food Project are helping people to do this. Since opening three years ago we’ve donated over \u00a338,000 to different Edinburgh based charities and we’re so happy to be supporting Edinburgh Food Project as our last charity for 2025.”<\/span><\/p>\n
